Candidate for City Mayor John Safford Officially Announces Run for Mayor in Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. — Community leader, Small business owner, and Veteran John Safford announces candidacy for Mayor in the City of Saratoga Springs.
On the announcement, John Safford said:
“I’m thankful to earn the support and endorsement of each of these local elected officials in Saratoga County. There are a number of reasons for my wanting to run in this race, not the least of which is the dismal performance of our current Mayor. However, while I think it is important to point out the failures of Ron Kim, it is equally important for me to clearly show the good people of this city how I will be different. In deference to Ron Kim’s volatility, I will be professional. In deference to Ron Kim’s reprisals against city employees who disagree with him, I will be thoughtful. In deference to Ron Kim’s weakness as Chairman of the Council meetings, I will be firm and fair to all participants. In deference to Ron Kim’s anger, I will be kind.
It is time for a change. I will return safety to our City’s streets and civility to our City Hall and end the chaos and dysfunction growing in Saratoga Springs’ government.”

What happens in the city has direct implications on the region, most especially in the neighboring Village of Ballston Spa in my district, and for the last few years leadership has allowed the city to take a dangerous turn that, if not corrected now, could be devastating. John Safford is the strong voice that is needed to bring back the vitality, energy, and safety of a city so many of us love.”
